From an Owl to an Eagle: Shaun Bradley's Rise to the NFL
As Shaun Bradley, EDU ’19, has risen through the ranks from becoming a Temple Owl to a Philadelphia Eagle, he has truly exemplified what it means to be #TempleMade.
To some, football is just a game or a job, but for Shaun Bradley, EDU ’19, it was always a family affair. His dad played his entire life, and Shaun says that his love of the game came directly from him. He recalls playing since the age of 7, and never dreamed that he would go from playing Madden as a kid to being in the NFL himself. Becoming a linebacker on the Temple football team in 2016 was a game-changer, as he says it helped build his personality and humble him, teaching him to stay focused and work harder on and off the field. After playing for Temple until 2019, he was drafted to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020, a moment he and his family will never forget. With the Eagles, he describes the feeling of being “back home,” playing at the Linc where he had so many unforgettable moments as an Owl.
Check out our interview with Shaun below, which was filmed in July. Unfortunately, Shaun later suffered an Achilles injury at the preseason opener on August 12. We know that all our Owls are #TempleTuff strong and always bounce back from adversity. Please join us in wishing Shaun a speedy recovery and we hope to see him back on the field next season.

"Being #TempleTuff is a real thing… I know people say it all the time, and it sounds cliche because everyone says it, but it’s a very real thing. I’m thankful, blessed, and appreciate everything Temple has done for me."
