Experiencing Sports Through Art
Jordan Spector, CPH ’15, always had two passions: sports and art. Making Temple's football team was a dream come true, but an injury cut his time short. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, leading him to pivot back to the world of art creation and allow him to blend his two passions into one.
Jordan Spector, CPH ’15, has always had two huge passions in life: sports and art. When it was time to look for colleges, Temple was a natural fit—the urban location, the boundless opportunities and the size of the university all factored in his decision. He didn’t anticipate playing football as an Owl, but it was an opportunity he couldn't pass up. Unfortunately, after about a year, he sustained an injury that forced him to leave the team. He recalls it being a hard decision, but it didn't keep him down for too long. He quickly pivoted back to his other passion: art. Returning to art creation was a way for him to express his passion for sports, just in a different way. By the time he graduated, he had already completed artwork that was gaining traction outside his family and friends. In 2018, he officially established Spector Sports Art as an LLC, and his brand has only grown since. His work has been commissioned by numerous professional athletes and companies in the sports industry, and he doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.

"As a former Temple student and athlete here, it means so much to me to still be involved. I've always wanted to still have a way to be connected to Temple. I just always want to be involved in some way."
