Fiscal Year 2024
Year in Review

A Message from Mary E. Burke,
Vice President of Institutional Advancement

To our Temple community,

The enduring spirit and generosity of our Temple family have driven so many meaningful achievements this year, illustrating the true power of our collective efforts. When we unite in support of Temple’s mission, we help shape the university’s future and assure its impact.

For the fifth consecutive year, we surpassed the $100 million mark for fundraising, concluding the fiscal year with a remarkable total of $102,448,787.

Our progress extends beyond financial figures. We are also building a strong sense of community, connecting visionary donors with each other, our students and our campus. Two new signature events anchor these efforts. As part of Homecoming festivities, the Philanthropy in Action event celebrates how our donors advance the research, teaching and programs that distinguish Temple’s academic excellence.

During Temple Made Days in the spring, the university Scholarship Celebration highlights our core mission of educational access and opportunity, connecting over 100 donors with their student scholarship recipients. To strengthen that mission, we announced the launch of our Made for More: Prioritizing Scholarships at Temple initiative at that event. We want to inspire our donors to create a lasting legacy through scholarship funds for future Temple students. Our goal is to raise $125 million for student scholarships over three years, and we are so grateful to all our early supporters of this critical effort.

Our accomplishments this year are a testament to the unified resolve of our entire Temple community. Each of you plays a vital role in opening doors for future Owls and driving positive change. Thank you for your support, which has been instrumental in establishing Temple as a beacon of opportunity and excellence. Together, we are making a profound impact and paving the way for a brighter future.

Mary E. Burke
Vice President, Institutional Advancement

"You provide support for facilities and programs. You provide boundless access for talented students, very talented students who might not otherwise have a chance at a quality education. You provide resources for gifted faculty, inspiring the next generation. You are the ones who inspire our community of Owls to dream bigger and better and to fly higher."

Temple Launches Made for More: Prioritizing Scholarships at Temple

In Fiscal Year 2024, Temple launched an ambitious three-year initiative to raise $125 million in direct scholarship support. Through Made for More: Prioritizing Scholarships at Temple, the university aims to make a Temple education more affordable for current and future students and raise awareness about the importance of scholarship giving.

Celebrating the Impact of Philanthropy

In October 2023, Temple held its first ever Celebration of Philanthropy in Action event on Main Campus. It was an evening to showcase the charitable impact of Temple’s most dedicated and visionary donors, as university leadership, visionary donors and members of the community came together to celebrate the enormous impact philanthropy has across our campus.

Temple Made Days Continue a New Tradition

In the spring we celebrated the spirit of hard work and resilience with our third annual Temple Made Days. Our featured program highlighted our trailblazing alumni in our two awards programs, Gallery of Success and 30 Under 30. A spirited alumni happy hour at Citizens Bank Park was an opportunity for connection, pride and community. Owls also made a difference for current and future students by making donations to the Cherry Pantry and participating in Temple Giving Days.
